Making an appointment
The easiest way to make an appointment is to phone us during practice hours. If you have an urgent problem, please tell the receptionist. Our practice nurses are available to give some advice and help you decide if you need to see a doctor. In the case of an emergency dial 111 directly.
Practice Nurse Time:
We are aware that our practice nurses are at times struggling to keep up with demand and yet at other times are underutilised. We would like to ask for your assistance to provide a better service. Please note that we cannot give MEDICAL ADVICE over the phone, you will need to make an appointment and come in and see your doctor.
(i) Prescription requests:please endeavour to give us a 24 hours notice. Also faxed requests with Name, phone no, name of drug, dose, amount are a more accurate record and can be dealt with in a timely fashion. (ii) Appointments: We have instituted an appointment system for the practice nurses in an effort to balance their workload. It also means you can book for continuity of care. Could you please ask for a Nurse booked appointment for all immunisations, all dressing all follow up appointments and checks such as blood pressure.
(iii) Karen Adams NZRN has joined our practice and is dedicated to taking appointments for CVD Risk Assessment, Diabetes checks and Education, Care Plus and is also a Qualified Smear Taker and can see you for your routine smear.
